According to (Cook, 2014) organizations should be able to identify a specific organizational system to work with but must incorporate concepts from other systems too.
This unit has given me a new look at how organizations like in the sporting industries are equally affected by different behaviours of both the organizations and the individuals within the organizations. According to (Musgrave and Raj, 2009) the sports industry is complex and made up of so many stakeholders. All of these stakeholders have different interests and needs. Until I undertook this unit, I did not know the extent to which individual behaviours contributed to the operations of the organization. My initial understanding was that people are used to following the strict policies, guidelines and structures put in any organization. With this thought, I assumed that people in such an organization never use their personalities and behaviours while executing their duties. In truth, this has been my fear for a long time. The fear was that in future, my career might be very stressing and hectic because my personalities and behaviours will be limited to me alone and cannot show this in the workplace.
According to (Fiske, 2010) people are social beings and eliminating this aspect may be difficult. The social aspect of our lives has to be incorporated in all our lives including our workplaces. The thing about our social life is that it only becomes relevant and interesting because of our differences in terms of our perception about life, ideas and any other concept of life. The incorporation of these different personalities is what helps organizations do well. This unit has brought into my realization that there exist two main forms of individual differences, which are personality and motivation.
